Introducing Baby Charlie! | Sneak Peek

This little guy is especially special to me!

On the 4th of March at about 8am, my wonderful friend had her 3rd beautiful baby boy Charlie weighing in at 2.9kgs, her biggest little one yet! We’d all been waiting to find out if little Charlie was in fact a boy or girl (although my guess was a boy!) and I think I was worse then an expectant father, pacing about and watching the clock every 2 minutes waiting for the elusive sms! It takes an amazingly patient woman to have three sons – Fortunately, Manda has the patience of a saint! I have no doubt in my mind that she’s going to make such an amazing mum to her 3 C’s, what lucky boys!

Yesterday when I went to visit (and have a lot of cuddles!), I took my camera *just in case* Charlie was settled enough. Lucky for me he let us get a couple! I can’t wait until next week when we pic a day to get some more shots of him. He’s such a sweet little thing. I think there’s going to be a lot of guessing with this little fellow as to who he looks like. I personally think he’s a real mix of Connor and Callum. He definitely has Mandas mouth (which all 3 boys seem to have!), but I think the lower half of his face looks like Cally, and the upper half looks like Con. That’s just my guess, we’ll definitely have to wait and see I think! I’m so curious as to what his eyes are going to look like, Connors and Callum’s are both so different.

Baby Xavier | Sneak Peek

Right before Christmas I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely friends (and fellow Bubhub Moderators) wee little boy, Xavier.  Sorry it’s taken me so long to stick these up for you! Anyhow, Xavier was such a tiny little thing but he was such a wonderful baby. He didn’t cry or complain, and he was happy to just sleep the morning away for us, just what I love!.. Izy was such a wonderful, natural mother. I haven’t seen such a new mum look and feel so comfortable holding and breastfeeding her new little baby. Wow, they mad such a great little team. I always adore photographing newborns, but it’s that much nicer when it’s a baby of someone you know!

Well done Izy, he’s such a handsome little fellow! I’ll get your gallery to you ASAP, thanks for being so patient!

Hermit Crab’s & Beautiful Skies | Sneak Peek

Just before Christmas I had the pleasure of photographing some of my last clients of the year, Trevor, Leanne and their two boys. Wow, what a way to finish up the year! With storms forecast for the afternoon, we were a little uneasy as to what the weather was going to be like and if we should go ahead with the session, but I’m SO glad we did, and I can’t express that enough! The storms building on the coast and around Brisbane made for phenomenal skies, the weather was gorgeous, and I truly love spending time with such easy going clients. Nick and Chris were absolutely wonderful to shoot, they were such sweet boys and gosh they made my job SO easy.

When I look back on this session I’m going to remember searching for hermit crabs, long green underwater millipedes, beautiful skys and watermelons! Thank you Leanne, Trevor, Nick and Chris for such a wonderful afternoon, it was a truly memorable shoot and I hope I’ve given you some images you’re treasure for a very long time – there’s certainly some personal favorites of mine in this bunch!

Sweet Ashlee – Sneak Peek

Wow I love my job.. This week I had the absolute pleasure of photographing little Ashlee.. What a quiet, sweet, tiny little thing she was. Gosh she was such a joy to photograph, she made my job *so* easy. We hardly heard a whimper from her tiny little body (well, until we tried to put her on her tummy! Little Ashlee absolutely does not like being put on her tummy and she didn’t hold back in letting us know! Once she was taken off her tummy, it was like we flicked a switch, she’d instantly fall back to sleep! So, no tummy poses for Ashlee! Despite that, she was so brilliant for me – All that squishy bendy newborn goodness! Thank you so much Tina, I’m so glad you and your lovely husband chose me to photograph your sweet little angel of a girl!

Sand, Waves & Fun in the Sun!

We decided to head down the beach this week with our lovely friends Jen & Jamie and their boys to take some snaps at the beach and then have a nice dinner together after wards. On the drive down I said I was rather frustrated with the lack of cloud cover (yet again!), but by the time we got to the beach, there were some beautiful wispy clouds forming – So beautiful. I must admit, I didn’t preform very well on the day. I was tired, and half of the photos were *so* crooked – whoops! Ah, the well behaved children, great company and pretty clouds made up for it I think! I think this is going to me my new favorite beach location. It’s a little more private, and it’s such a pretty spot!

Gwen and one of *cough* her boyfriends had a fab time, although Jack was rather unsure of the beach, it took him quite a while to warm up to the sand and water! Little Alex was such a champ, and a performer as always, I think he definitely loved the trip to the beach. I really need to organise a trip down again so that ALL of Gwen’s friends can be there. I really need to get some shots of them all together! Anyhow, heres a few snaps from the afternoon, I had a bit more fun with these – I need to get out of my post-processing rut!

Little Miss S | Sneak Peek

Gosh I love photographing babies, and this little one was no exception! Little Shakita certainly wanted to test my baby whispering skills, I think she was the most alert little baby I’ve ever had the chance to photograph. Of course I’ve had the regular awake crying baby, but little S was something else! She was so awake and alert, happy to look around the room, out the window, into your eyes. Such a delightful little thing she was (well, not that she was all that little for a newborn, she was nearly 10lbs!). She even held her head up for me at a young 13 days old! Eventually she dropped off to sleep for us (for short little spurts of course, she was far too busy checking out the world to sleep!), so I eventually caught some of her asleep, although she did protest every time I moved her!

Thanks so much R & K for inviting me into your home to photograph this little one, it’s a joy every time!

Mr Personality & Little Miss Serious! | Sneak Peek

This weekend I headed out to photograph two wonderful little children who were such polar opposites! Mr Jake was such an outgoing chatty little fellow! Every time I pointed my camera at him, his big bright grin would beam from ear to ear, I don’t think I got one serious shot of him! Little Miss Matilda was such a sweetheart with the most beautiful red hair and porcelain skin, but she was ever so serious! There was no bossing that little miss around, she certainly had no problem asserting herself!

Nathaniel. | Sneak Peek

In August I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Shehana and photographing her for a maternity session and I was so pleased to be able to photograph her new addition to the family as well!  This little guy (well,  not really, he was actually quite a big little baby!!) made his appearance earlier then expected, but was courteous enough to wait until the day after his Dad was able to make it to Brisbane. This wonderful family made me feel so welcome in their home, and Shehana’s lovely mum even cooked me a fantastic lunch!

Nathaniel was a photographers dream, I think he’d have to be one of the easiest babies I’ve ever worked with (and funnily enough, so was baby Mya, his second cousin who I photographed back in April!), and once again Shehana was a wonderful model, as was her lovely husband. Thanks Shehana, I hope Nathaniel stays as wonderfully easy going like he was this week!

So Stunning… | Sneak Peek

This week I had the absolute pleasure of photographing one of *the* most stunning pregnant women I’ve ever seen. We headed down to the Gold Coast to do a maternity session and I even got to see Shehanas cousin and her adorable little baby Mya who I photographed as a newborn in April. Beautiful genes must run in the family! The extremely gorgeous (inside and out!) Shehana was such a natural model,  I hardly had to do any work! Unfortunately her husband couldn’t make it down for the session, but Shehana was such a trooper anyway! The location was a fairly rough walk from the road (I was puffed and I’m not event pregnant!), the water was icy cold and she even climbed to the top of a sandbank for me.  I’m still in awe at how perfect her little bump was!

Best of luck to you for the up and coming birth Shehana, I hope the little one holds off until your husband can join you!

Newborn Twins – Slater & Ash | Sneak Peek

This week I had the pleasure of traveling up the coast to meet Melanie and her two (identical!) gorgeous boys. These two little peanuts were nearly 5 weeks old and we weren’t too sure how they’d handle a newborn session.. They were so uncurly (for lack of a better word *grins*) and alert. The two of them certainly made us work hard during the session but once we finally got the little guys to sleep, they were great! I adore photographing newborns and twins certainly don’t roll around every day so thank you Melanie for inviting me into your home. I know you were stressed about time, but I’m glad you hung in there. I hope I captured some you love!

I just love these two photos next to each other. I want to hang these huge side by side on the wall, I wish they were mine!
